Avery is doing wonderfully. We actually spent three days last week in an at -home child care and it's been working out really well. Lisa, the child care lady, lives in the same neighborhood as one of the girls I work with - it's the same place she takes both her boys. She keeps a handful of kids and it's really been working out great for us. She's ten minutes from my office and really good with Avery. As much as I know Theresa loves to have Avery during the day, I'm sure there will come a day when she says 'ok, no more five days a week'. And that's ok. We wanted a baby and it's our job as parents to find appropriate child care for her. But we are beyond grateful and thankful for all that Theresa has done for us. All our of parents in fact. I could go on and on about everything the four of them have done over the last several months but there are no words to adequately describe what they've done and how much it truly means to us. I can only hope that one day, Andrew and I will be the same type of parents to Avery.
A couple of weekends ago I took Avery out shopping with me and we stopped by Jon and Lori's house (those are our best friends from high school) for a visit. Lori had her little girl, Jordan, a few weeks before I had Avery and we've decided that they have no choice but to be best friends also. It's so crazy to me that Jordan is only about 5 weeks older and already so much different from Avery. It just makes me that much more excited to see what we have to look forward to soon. So we took a couple pictures and they make me chuckle cause in some of them it looks like they're punching each other. Ah, those developing motor skills.
Now here's a very true and completely wild story. Lori got pregnant, I got pregnant, Hannah (a girl I work with got pregnant), Stephannie (one of the PA's I work with got pregnant) and then Elisa (another one of the girls I work with) found out that her second adoption had gone through. We all have babies under the age of six months right now! It actually is really nice because I don't feel like one of those new moms that can only talk about her baby (I mean, I am but that's besides the point). I love knowing that I have four other people going through the same things we are that I can talk about baby stuff with them.
Two Friday's ago, we had a baby shower for Elisa and her newest addition, Blake. We just had it at the office and it was extra special because three of us brought our tiny people with us to work and ha them there all day. Avery looooved being there! I just threw her in the baby carrier and she just smiled and talked to all our patients as they came up. She loved being there with all the new people she can make friends with. And she was so good! No tears, no fussing. In fact, she fell asleep in the carrier and I didn't even notice it. So of course, we had to put all the babies together and take pictures.

This weekend my aunt Robin and Aunt Pat were in tow visiting and it was the first time they got to see Avery and I'm sure it's safe to say they're in love. So much so that yesterday during the get together at Aunt Linda's it was a game of Musical Avery. Girlfriend never got put down, someone always had her. And she was loving it. We had all kinds of smiles and giggles. I love knowing that she's loved by so many people.
We hit another milestone this week. We are now eating solid foods at dinner time. We're mixing her cereal with a good spoonful of baby food and formula every night. It took some getting used to but she's now got the idea and seems to be enjoying it. It's a lot of shove and scrape but she's getting it down and opens her mouth for it without any issues. It hasn't really helped with the sleeping but I'm sure that'll come with time. On top of that, we are now in size two diapers. They're just a bit big on her but the size ones just were too small. And of course the change would come the week after the diapers.com delivery of 252 count size ones! She couldn't wait until those were gone. Oh well, I've got a few people who I can pass them on to.
Here's a few of her sleeping in the most random ways. Bless this little weirdo.
I don't know if these videos work for not, they play for me when I'm updating so I'm hoping they're coming through for you guys. I found some video of the first time we tried solid foods. And then at Red Robin where myself, Avery and Grandpa ran into Aunt Robin, Aunt Stacy, Aunt Pat and my Nanna. Avery tried lemon....it did not go over well.
That's about all I've got for now. Avery has the big four month birthday coming up in three days! So that means she's also got another check up at the pediatrician along with more shots. We're already not looking forward to that.
Until next time....
Love
Meaghan, Andrew and Avery
